Received with faulty battery, HP customer service is terrible
Received in faulty condition, laptop shows it’s plugged in but not charging.Scanned with HP hardware assistant, which showed the battery has failed due to a blown fuse (this is right out of the box). Googling shows that this particular error is usually due to a blown fuse on the motherboard.Contacted HP support, and they said it has to be sent in for repair, and the entire process of repairing will take a week or so total. However, after getting off the call, I check the status of the repair order, and see that they have messed up the address to which they will send the return box (half of it is my address in California, half is some other random location in Missouri). Have to call back in and get it fixed.Terrible experience overall, unexpected from HP. I bought HP cause my past experiences with their laptops have been good. However, if this is how bad their QA is now, why bother? I should have purchased Acer/ASUS instead, atleast as I would get better specs for the same price because HP cannot ensure quality anymore (their only differentiating factor). How would someone less tech savvy deal with this? I would definitely not want my parents to deal with these things.I probably should have gone through Amazon support instead and just got a full replacement for the laptop instead.I will update this in the future with how the repair proceeds. Their current handling of the situation does not fill me with confidence.

Hard drive crashed after one year
I bought this computer in July 2023 and the hard drive just crashed. My computer tech just called me with the bad news. Never have I had a computer crash after one year!!!

No WiFi after a year
The computer was just ok when I got it. Had a few glitches I thought was just my modem or something with my home network. Well, just over a year of owning it, and the damn wireless Ethernet card stopped working and can’t connect to the internet anymore. Another reason I can’t stand windows computers. They are crap, and you’re stuck using them because of the monopoly that they have because of their software everyone has to use. A specific software is the only reason I had to purchase this windows crap. Look for a different computer than HP if you just have to get one. Because it’s near useless to me without wifi.

BEWARE! There are 2 versions of this laptop
I purchased 2 of these laptops within a few weeks of each other. First unit has a keyboard backlight function on the f11 key and states that it has the capability to enable the touch screen. The second one has no keyboard backlight capability and no touchscreen. I checked the product model numbers and everything matches but on the second unit there isn’t a keyboard backlight icon on the f11 key and when I check System, it states that the screen does not support touch. I’m stuck because I need the second unit to replace my non-charging macbook pro (charging circuit fried) and I don’t want to spend the money for a new macbook pro when PCs are just as good if not better now. So far the laptop performs well and if it lasts a few days, I plan on upgrading the PCIe drive to a 4TB one. I wouldn’t purchase from AmazingDeal Arrived again, if that is their real name. Their amazon profile says xzllc and they say they are located in Delaware, but the unit shipped from Blue Ocean Inc. If that doesn’t seem a bit scamish I don’t know what does.

So far this laptop meets my needs. I am not a gamer so I can not comment on the quality for gaming but it is a decent computer.

Not a bad laptop for the price. Unfortunately there was no upgrade option at the time of purchase. But it will do.

Great computer
Did a lot of research before buying this computer. This one seemed to be really good for the price. It’s fast and has a lot of memory. I use it for work and my cad programs don’t have any problem functioning like they should.

Good quality for price.
My son bought this for his first year of college and likes it a lot. Also uses for gaming and has had no issues with it so far. Definitely a good deal for screen size and operation for assignments.

Blue screen error keep occurring
The laptop was working great, unfortunately a few months into use, it started having a blue screen error. This laptop is used mostly for light work use (pulling up web pages, maybe with one excel open at a time and spotify playing in the background). I was able to boot into safe mode, uninstall latest window updates, but blue screen (memory error) keeps occurring making me think there may be a hardware issue. Of course all of this happened after the return window closed…

A big mistake.
I thought from the reviews that it would be a good computer but boy was I wrong. The mouse screen froze up the first night I used the computer. The writing on the keys is too tiny and looks like it will wear off the first time you touch them. The real issue though was the Internet connection. There were times when even opening websites took forever. On my phone I could access my email in a second, but on this computer it took an hour. What is this, dial-up? I sent it back after a week of use because a new computer shouldn’t be this slow especially when other devices are working normally. The kicker was being charged a ten-percent restocking fee for having bought a defective computer and knowing someone else will get my defective computer to ruin their day too. If you’re looking for a new laptop, this isn’t the one unless you don’t plan to use the Internet.

no backlit as advertised (model differs from what you will get)
The model advertised is NOT what you will get when purchased it, one missing feature is no keyboard backlit and for a 2022 laptop it not okay.

Good laptop
I needed a laptop with more RAM and GB than one’s I’ve purchased in the past. I use it for both work and gaming and wanted it to function without glitching or being slow regardless of what I am doing. This laptop works wonderfully! I like the look of it, the silver is very nice. It’s lightweight and I love that it has the numeric keypad as that is actually something I use more than I realized. I like that it has a fingerprint scanner to easily unlock the laptop. The only concerning issue I had was one time the screen glitched completely and pixelized everything. I just closed the laptop and opened it back up and it was fine. I’ve not had any other issues, and it’s still just as fast today as it was when I first got it. It’s worth the money in my opinion. This is not touchscreen, and I actually prefer it that way. I’ve had a touchscreen in the past and I honestly didn’t use the touchscreen anyways. This has met all of my needs and continues to meet them consistently. Would highly recommend

So Far So Good
So far so good. Been using for about a week. Fortunately the inside box contained a carton so that when it was literally dropped off by FedEx it seems ok. FedEx said it needed to be signed for which it didnt. Set up was easy. I like how it walked you through. The only thing I found tricky was making sure old docs were backed up and transferred. Used OneDrive. Definitely quicker on startup and processing. Zoom meeting only had one issue where with old computer constantly had issues. There is a backlight button.

Great
Great for work and school. It runs at a decent speed. The picture quality for video calls is great. I love the finger print scanner for logging into the device. I never felt like I had to worry about people getting onto my computer. I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth. I love the size of the screen.

Do Not Buy! HP Doesn’t Stand By Product.
I purchased this HP laptop in July 2022 for my husband who previously had only owned laptops made by Dell and which lasted for years. On November 1, 2023, the laptop would not boot up. Error messages indicated that there was a hard drive failure. He followed all instructions available to repair it for several hours to no avail. After several calls to HP for assistance, he was told to take the laptop to Best Buy’s Geek Squad for them to diagnose and possibly fix the hard drive. Turns out, they don’t diagnose hard drive issues, only software issues. So, more wasted time on top of all those calls. After more escalated calls to HP, they said that he could send the laptop to their service center but it would cost $600 for them to fix because the laptop’s one year warranty had lapsed. So, what we learned is that the laptop is barely a year and a half old and HP could care less about assisting with what is clearly a poorly made and inferior product. My advice is buy a Dell or some other company’s laptop that have proven lifespans. I would leave zero stars if I could.

Works well
Needed another laptop fast, when my old one died. This had everything I needed except a large HD but I can add an external drive so that works well. Compared other models from different sites and this met all my needs, including low price.

Has everything you need!
This is a great laptop! It has plenty of memory and performs swiftly. The keys are easy to use as is the pad. I use a wireless mouse though. I got this for a bit cheaper during Prime Days. I was very happy to see that The Deal Guy on YouTube gave it a thumbs up as part of his recommendations to buy for Prime days! Get it! HP’s are great!

Very wide and slows down after a few years of use
I got this laptop in early 2023, currently it has lag issues, when I type on the keyboard the words appear a few seconds later as opposed to immediately. I dislike that.I also find the laptop very long, due to the number pad, it doesn’t fit in all bags. The screen is too long in my opinion and it’s not as compact as I initially thought it would be.

Not bad for the price
I mainly bought it for video editing and it’s perfect for that. I occasionally play games and the performance is good. The laptop I got is not touch screen and the internal microphone doesn’t work with zoom or other third party apps.Update: The internal mic is now working properly. I guess a driver needed updating.

Tested, top of the line, at a discount!
I buy the premium top of the line, or just what I need in a computer. Buying the new untested is hit and miss with longevity, and trouble! So far it’s performing very well. Battery life seems pretty good up to 2 hours depending on usage.

The battery life is nowhere near what was advertised, and the mouse gets all jumpy when it’s charging. Get something else. Nice screen I guess.

Excellent Quality and FHD Picture!
Incredible quality and picture. Highly recommend. Looks very similar to my wife’s MacBook and performs similarly with high end processing, speed, and FHD picture. Glad I went with this over other other high end Macs and PCs. Best PC under 1K IMO.

I won’t ever buy a laptop on Amazon again. So much trouble with this laptop not connecting to internet when it wants to, and the basic office software is not included, kept getting errors when trying to save documents or work on documents from other sources , and the box it came it looked bootleg

Basic laptop with Extremely short battery life
Extremely short battery life! I might as well have brought a desktop. Seems like you turn this thing on and the battery is practically drained. Have To constantly charge it. It stays plugged in so much I might as well have bright a desktop. I’m not doing anything serious with it either. You watch a video or send an email and poof battery is dead. You fully charge it and turn it on a few days later and the battery is dead. This is a very basic laptop. It comes loaded with no programsIt has no card reader even though the pictures shows one.It has no back lit keyboard (even though that’s been a thing for over a decade now).It only has two USB ports and a type C USB ports. The screen quality isn’t that great. Images are blurry when they should be at times. It hurts my eyes. The screen is also only 13″ wide even though they’ll make you assume it’s 15″ by the way they market these things. It only has a 500gb hd that is already being used by the system. So it’s more like 400gb of free space. Don’t know what they have on there because they don’t preloaded these things with programs.I want to revisit my complaint about the keybed. It’s VERY hard to see. Tiny printed letters that blend in with the silver keys. A back light and some illumination would help greatly. You think it’s not an issue till you start using this thing and realize how annoying it is. Backlit keys would have made a big difference. It’s almost like the keys are camouflaged. At the current price this was around 800 I’d say get something that’s not this. There are a lot of laptops in that range with better features. This should be half that price. It has nothing going for it other than it looks nice when the lid is closed.

Hardware issues after 13 months.
For $800.00, I expected more from a PC, especially from HP. The colors of the screen are somehow washed out and blurry. After 13 months of casual use, one day the laptop would not boot. I tried to reinstall windows with the recovery tool at booting, but the tool was not detecting the ssd. I then, tried to reinstall my linux os, which I had on a separate partition, with a live usb, but that was not detecting the ssd either. Finally, I went to the BIOS to check if any ssd was being detected, no, no ssd was being detected.I replaced the ssd with a 1TB ssd and that resolved the issue. Luckily, I had everything backed up on google drive with Deja Dup, this little tool saved my tons of files.I’m so disappointed with HP. I’ve never had issues with their products. Hopefully, I don’t have issues with the wi-fi card like others reviewers have pointed out. I’ll stay way from HP products from now on.

Speed, but the battery time…
Its one of the fastest laptops I’ve purchased, but the battery time is actually sad. Fortunately, my needs generally allow me to have it plugged in while in use. Not sure how flight to Hawaii is going to handle it….

Laptop
Nice laptop and got it for a very reasonable price. Wish I could have got it it in black version but white was the only option available. Thing I really was surprised with was paying so much money for the computer that It was delivered with no signature when it was delivered and also the original box was not even put to into a cardboard box to cover when it was delivered. Anyone could see what was sitting on my porch and steal it. I don’t know if it’s the vendor or who but something needs to changed with delivery of this laptop. The laptop is great and I have no complaints about it. I use it at work and I definitely would purchase it again. Judi

Basic Laptop
It is a basic laptop. I’m a little disappointed with the screen display. It is more like a flat screen TV, in that you have to be at a specific angle to see everything clearly and it is not as sharp as I would like it to be. But, for what I use it for, surfing the net, FB, e-mails and minimal use of MS Office products, it’ll do. I am also disappointed that there are only 2 standard USB ports. But it is very fast. I haven’t used it without the power cord, so I can’t comment to the battery life.

Battery life disappointing
Unfortunately, the battery life is not as advertised. I was able to use the laptop for 4 -5 hours unplugged, not doing anything much that would drain the power quickly, before I needed to plug back in. Also, did a full charge and unplugged. Sat for about a week without turning on. Once turned on, the battery was at 46%. How, I didn’t use it??? Also, somewhat difficult to see the letters and images on the keys unless the light is “just right” – this could be somewhat on me given my eyes aren’t what they used to be.

So far so good.
So far it is the fastest laptop I have ever owned, but I usually buy low-end i3 laptops. I became so frustrated with my last HP (i3) that i almost didn’t buy this one. After researching processors and such, I settled on this one and so far, so good. It is very responsive, the internet connection is nearly instantaneous, and the time it takes to load a page is also nearly instantaneous. It is also great for creating Word/Excel documents. I purchased it about a month ago, so this is a short-term view on it.

Great if you want a laptop that needs charged every 20 minutes
I got this laptop because my old laptop (lenovo) needed to be charged constantly (after 5 years); this one is brand new and is on par with my 5-year-old laptop. I’m constantly searching for my charger, it drains faster than any computer I’ve ever had. If I could buy something different I would.

This does NOT have a backlit keyboard
I’ve had this for a few weeks now and I’m generally happy with it.The only disappointment is that it doesn’t have a backlit keyboard. I read on the questions and answers that it did and that was a factor for me pursuing it.After trying to turn it on and not being able to I went HP support and was told this model does not. So not happy about that.

Great laptop but NO back light!
Works great! Very fast but the keyboard does not light up which I thought, in this price range would be a standard! Actually I’ve purchased much cheaper laptops which all had it so I had no clue that it was something that wouldn’t be there. That is a real disappointment! Other than that it’s great.

No SD SLOT!!!!
I spent over three hours setting this laptop up just to find out there’s no slot for an SD card. The photos show there is a micro SD slot on the left side but nope….. none! I have to have this. I got it from the Black Friday sale. I wonder if those laptops aren’t the same as the $900 ones. Not very happy right now.

Wifi card died in a month
Bought this a month ago and it started dropping the wifi connection about 2 weeks ago. Now it says there is no wifi card recognized. They are cheap and easy to replace but this sucks for a new computer. Otherwise, it has been great. Also, there is no Lan port to hook up to a wired network. Didn’t think I needed one until there is no wifi and no Bluetooth…
