Laptop is competent and works well
This is the second of this model HP laptop I own. There is nothing spectacular about it. It’s a tool which works as designed. However, two features drive me crazy. First is the white on silver letters on the keyboard. Unless you have an auxiliary keyboard as I do, you would need a strong light shining directly on the keyboard to see what you’re doing. The second is the power switch. You do not get the feel of depressing a switch and it returning to the rest position. The switch does not seem to move, you you never know if the machine is going to come on or not. Otherwise, it’s an ok laptop.

Good computer very bad OS
I wrote an earlier review criticizing this computer, actually the the computer is fine it just has a horrible operating system. Windows 11 is truly terrible and unstable with tons of bloatware and to be designed to reject third party software. You change settings to fix one problem and it brings up two more problems. Unfortunately unless you purchase an Apple computer you stuck with Windows 11. This company needs to be broken up because it is a blatant monopoly. Bottom line good computer horrible OS.

Fantastic Laptop
This was exactly what we were looking for. My husband uses it for school and there is a lot of online work and it keeps up with everything. Had a bit of trouble maintaining long hours of Age of Empires but that was the only small issue.

Very good laptop for its price but..
Great laptop. I like it a lot. Very thin and lightweight… I just wish that the battery life would be better. In almost a year with it, a couple times if I move it, it freezed dont know why.

Worked perfectly right out of the box. Plenty of computing power for everyday work and photo editing in Lightroom. I gave the a four star rating only because I don’t care all that much for the keys…kind of mushy and “cheap” feeling. But, still, a good value and recommended.

Good every day laptop
Good specs for the price. Works well for every day use. I’ve edited photos in Photoshop, created basic cards and documents in InDesign and even made a video in Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro crashed when I pushed it beyond it’s 16GB RAM limit exporting in Premiere Pro. (This laptop wasn’t made for heavy creation work as it has integrated graphics). It’s a great every day laptop. I recommend it for students and home office use as well as light creator work.

Hated the setup process
The hardware is working well so far (although it would be nice to have a type-A USB port on the right side), however I wasted a lot of time on the setup process. It forces you to create a Microsoft account prompting for personal information. Afterwards I created a local account and deleted that of Microsoft, but the process still screwed up certain things for me on my home network. The whole thing was extremely annoying and I continue to dislike Windows 11.

HP is the worst
Used this laptop for 3 months, horizontal lines starting appearing. I spent over 20 hours over numerous nights talking to techs as they tried everything to resolve the issue. They determined it was a software issue and had me send it in. The repair center called, they put a new operating system on it but couldn’t replicate the issue so they sent it back with a letter saying it was being sent back unrepaired because it was damaged and no longer under warranty! I spoke with my 2nd case mgr. he said I could take it to a service center and they would reimburse me for the repairs, or send it back to them. I asked for a loaner so I didn’t go another month+ w/o a laptop, he said I would need to provide my CC info for collateral! They don’t stand behind their product.

I use this for streaming and solitaire. Nice display, Good sound. Battery lasts maybe 2 hours and takes about two hours to recharge. My needs are simple and this machine doesnt even cut it for me,

Wife loves it
Works great for what we use it for – web surfing, basic computer functions. It’s fast, and I’ve had good luck with HP in the past. Her last computer was a Dell, and the battery did the expansion thing about two years after we bought. Going back to what we know.

A little heavier than expected . Great lap top EXCEPT the on/off button is very hard to operate. It is so tiny and you never know if it is energized. It takes sometimes ten times for me to get it to turn on. Not good for someone with big fingers.

Didn’t come with free year of 365
I thought it came with a year of 365. Turns out it was a month and then only if you gave a credit card for $15.99/mon for a year. Computer seems to work well though

Perfect for school
The laptop we had at home barely had enough operating power to turn on without freezing up, and I needed something that would last hubby through the end of school. So far, the computer is working fast. It is not touch screen, and the keyboard is not backlit, but it does have a 10 key touch number pad, which I like. This is a great intro laptop that should last.

Battery Issues – Fake HP Battery
After only 3 months the battery performance started downgrading. I come to know the following: 1) Battery is not original, it was replaced, which probably makes me think this is a refurbished laptop. Following message appears in blue background “Non HP battery.. “” 2) the screws have been touched as well.

Poor performance. Not worthy of price
Dnt buy this product. It does not shows performance as per its specifications. I have used it only for one week. Nothing saved more than some pdf. Now it is taking time to open even pdf. And the keyboard seen misaligned. Don’t waste your money.

I had a problem with the quality.
The computer overall is nice and has nice features for the money. However, the particular unit I received felt like the keyboard and keyboard surface were unsupported. When typing, the entire keyboard and surrounding would bend and press down. It was very distracting and unacceptable, so I returned it. I bought a similar computer (but a different model number). The keyboard, surface and case were identical to the first unit. But this one seemed sturdier. I think I just got a flawed unit the first time, which can happen with anything.

This is a very nice computer. Compact, lightweight and very fast. I’m not a fan of the keyboard though. It’s pretty sensitive and seems to bump the cursor around. I use a mouse, so that helps. I would purchase it again.

Performs well
There are only two issues I want to highlight:1. the internal fan is rather noisy2. the keyboard color contrast is poor and for those of us who need to look at the keyboard when typing, this is not a desirable feature.Other than those two issues, the laptop performs very well, a nice screen with excellent resolution.

Docking Capability
Mediocre performance. I know a fair amount about PC’s. Read the product description and it had the specs I was looking for. I got this specifically for my parents to use on a docking station to project to keyboard, mouse, monitor, ethernet ect… Guess what this laptop doesn’t have the capability to do…….. Yea…. THAT. None of the USB ports are compatible with charging or docking / extending the display. So if you are looking to do those things, look somewhere else. I wish that was in the description of this thing or else I wouldn’t have bought it.

Great lap, but is the bare minimum
This is great little laptop. Lightweight, decently fast, easy to use. However, it is the bare minimum build of HP laptops. It will not support a docking station for multiple monitors, even HP brands. The most you can do is use an external monitor through the HDMI port.

Good bang for buck
Good processor and amount of memory for normal office/student/internet tasks. Good price. I normally deploy Lenovo for work and my only complaints are that the keyboard feels cheap (some keys rattle loosely) and it has an old style charger rather than the usb-c universal style.
